The money side

A bonus you cannot withdraw is not money

Everything else on this site prices what a welcome offer survives. This page is about whether what survives can actually leave: which rails these thirteen bookmakers publish, who charges to pay you, and the ceiling that stops a large win before any bookmaker's terms do.

The ceiling is the central bank’s, not the bookmaker’s

A mobile money wallet has a ceiling of its own, and it is not the bookmaker's. The daily figure is the one people quote. The monthly figure is the one that actually stops a large payout, because splitting a win across consecutive days runs into the month before it runs into anything else, and only an upgrade to a higher band removes it.

Wallet bandMost in one dayMost in a monthMost it can hold
Minimum KYC GH₵3,000 GH₵10,000 GH₵5,000
Medium KYC GH₵15,000 no limit GH₵40,000
Enhanced KYC GH₵25,000 no limit GH₵75,000

Bank of Ghana, effective 2024-03-01. An empty monthly cell means no limit at that band, not an unknown.

Held against a real number: the largest priceable welcome offer in this market leaves GH₵4,095 after its turnover. That fits inside Medium KYC in a single day. A win several times that size does not, and the route for one is a bank transfer rather than a wallet.

The six rails, and who publishes each

Share is against the nine books whose cashier could be read at all. 1xBet, Melbet, 22Bet and Betwinner publish nothing readable from outside Ghana, so they are absent from every row below and absent from the denominator too.

RailBooksLeast inLeast outWhat it is for
MTN Mobile Money 9 GH₵1.00 GH₵1.00 universal
Telecel Cashwas Vodafone Cash 9 GH₵1.00 GH₵1.00 universal
AirtelTigo Money 9 GH₵1.00 GH₵1.00 universal but smallest
Bank transfer 0 not published not published common but secondary
Debit or credit card 3 GH₵1.00 no payouts rare, deposit only
Cryptocurrency 1 not published not published one licensed casino, absent from every licensed sportsbook

Money moves between the three wallet networks, so which one a payout lands on is a small decision rather than a binding one. What is not small is the band the wallet sits in, which is what a large payout runs into whichever network it arrived on.

One withdrawal fee in the whole market

betPawa publishes a percentage charge on withdrawals on its own page, with deposits free. It is the only published operator withdrawal fee in this fact base, and it is worth knowing about precisely because several affiliate pages state the opposite.

A caveat that belongs beside it: the page that publishes it is undated and still uses a telco name that changed in 2024, so it is published and partly stale at the same time. Check in the cashier before assuming either way.

Two things that were taxed and are not

Winnings. A 10 per cent withholding on gross winnings ran from 2023 until it was repealed on 2 April 2025 by Act 1129. A licensed operator pays winnings in full today. The 20 per cent tax on gross gaming revenue that remains is the operator's obligation and does not come out of what you are paid.

The transfer itself. The levy on electronic transfers was cut at the start of 2023 and repealed outright on 2 April 2025, with collectors told to stop deducting the same day and to refund anything taken after it. No government charge sits on a mobile money transfer today.

Both dates matter in both directions. A page saying Ghana taxes winnings is wrong now, and a page saying Ghana has always been free of it is wrong about every year up to April 2025.

Getting paid, asked plainly

Is there a tax on betting winnings in Ghana?
Not today. A 10 per cent withholding on gross winnings ran from 2023 and was repealed on 2 April 2025 by Act 1129, so a licensed operator pays winnings in full. One operator’s own Ghanaian terms still quote a withholding rate; those terms are stale rather than current.
Is there a levy on the mobile money transfer itself?
No. The Electronic Transfer Levy was reduced at the start of 2023 and repealed outright on 2 April 2025, and charging entities were told to stop deducting it the same day. No government levy sits on a mobile money transfer now.
What is the biggest amount I can withdraw at once?
That is decided by your wallet's KYC band before it is decided by any bookmaker. At minimum KYC the ceiling is GH₵3,000 a day and GH₵10,000 a month, and the monthly one is what actually binds, because splitting a payout across days does not get round it.
Do any of these bookmakers charge to pay me?
One does, and it publishes it: betPawa states a percentage fee on withdrawals while deposits stay free. Every other book in this market that publishes a position on fees publishes none. Several affiliate pages say betPawa waives it, which its own page contradicts.
